Julie Jacobson is a retired biochemist for the Department of Agriculture. She is an active member of the arts community in North Platte playing Bassoon in Sandhills Symphony, singing soprano in Heartland Singers, North Platte Concert Association adviser and past president, Playhouse productions, receiving Woman of Achievement in the Cultural Arts. She is also a founding member of Creativity Unlimited Arts Council and North Platte Children's Museum that repurposed the Old Post Office and Carnegie Library Buildings. She was the original incorporator of Art Study League, Inc.
Julie presently serves as trustee for Sheldon Art Association and Nebraska Cultural Endowment, past president of Friends of Lied, Lied Statewide Advisory Board, past president UNL Partners, President's Advisory Council for UNL, and NACEB president, receiving the Governor's Award of Excellence in 2006 for service to 4-H and Extension.
Julie and her husband Mike are both graduates of the University of Nebraska. Mike chartered NebraskaLand National Bank and they together own and operate M B Jacobson Farms, Inc. They have two children, Mary and Josh.
