Sondra Jonson is a professional sculptor who has in the last 5 years completed 25 life-size bronze sculptures for public and private buildings and open spaces. During her residencies, she brings the basic art of sculpture to a level that allows students to explore their abilities and imagination in 3 dimensions. Typically, her target classes create a clay 'story' by sculpting characters and scenes from classic children's literature. With more time-limited groups she may teach children to sculpt simple animal forms, or she may demonstrate the process of transforming clay sculpture into a finished bronze.
