Colleen O'Doherty leads workshops where students learn how to write stories for the stage as well as how to perform them. She leads them through engaging writing prompts to draw out the stories students want to tell, then she assists the student in deciding how they will bring the material alive onstage. She has worked as a playwright, actress and director in Omaha for over a decade. She has also facilitated writing workshops in slam poetry for five years with the Nebraska Writers Collective. She can assist students in incorporating verse into their playwriting scripts, as well as how to craft poetic monologues. She obtained her MFA in writing for stage and screen from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2018.
