Sondra Jonson is a professional sculptor who has in the last 25 years has installed over 100 large sculptures for public and private buildings and open spaces throughout the U.S. and in Canada. During her residencies, she brings the basic art of sculpture to a level that allows students to explore their abilities and imagination in three dimensions. Typically, her target classes create a clay 'story' by sculpting characters and scenes from classic children's literature. With more time-limited groups she may teach children to sculpt simple animal forms, or she may demonstrate the process of transforming clay sculpture into a finished bronze.
