Kate Meadows
A published writer with an MFA in Professional Writing who has taught writing workshops for over eight years, Kate Meadows offers an array of writing classes and activities geared toward children or adults. Kate’s creative writing classes for kids are designed for three grade ranges: elementary grades 3-6, junior high, and high school, with options to publish individual illustrated stories or an anthology. Her sessions on writing craft and the writing life include “Creating Your Own ‘Why I Write’ Statement,” “Writing and Community: Using Story as Connection” and others. Her sessions on elements of writing tackle plot development, character development, voice/tone, momentum/pacing and more. One of Kate’s most popular writing sessions is a four-part series on creative nonfiction, where adult participants explore the ins and outs of telling true stories using elements of creative writing and critique each other’s works in progress via a proven method of effective manuscript critiquing.
