Percussion

Mark Powers has studied, performed and taught throughout the US and Canada, as well as in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and the South Pacific. As a Tycoon Percussion artist and REMO Education Artist, Mark facilitates a variety of percussion programs – taking students of all ages on a journey into the world of West African percussion, dance and language in his “Sights & Sounds of Ghana” workshops; and encouraging participants of his “Junk Jam” sessions to create music with everyday objects found in their homes and community.

Mark has been a TEDx speaker, is co-author of the instructional book “The 2-in-1 Drummer,” has written for Modern Drummer Magazine and a number of other percussion publications, and releases a brand new 60-second video drum lesson every single week on his educational website, DrumItInAMinute.com

Fun fact: Mark is also former co-holder of the Guinness World Record for Longest Drum Roll by a Group!
