The Flora District (Ashland)

Small towns often get the reputation for being cultural deserts: Ashland is anything but!

It’s vibrant downtown attracts visitors not only from eastern Nebraska, but from across the country. Along Silver Street, one can find a variety of galleries and creative businesses, where art walks, book signings, art unveilings, poetry readings, and workshops happen regularly.

The Ashland Arts Council has existed for decades hosting concerts and lectures, awarding scholarships, and curating an annual art show. And in a recent big win, the community voted to fund a performing arts center that will be part of a new public school campus.

Mission statement

To advance economic growth in the Ashland area through the attraction of new business, retention of existing business, and promotion of the area by providing support for commerce industry, and housing.
