Micro Grants

The goal of Micro Grants is to provide need-based financial support to assist artists impacted by Covid-19 in developing their virtual and marketing presence. Projects under consideration should be focused on improving the artist’s virtual presence through equipment purchases, professional development opportunities or technology training. Examples of supported projects might include artist website improvements, audio/video equipment purchases, or workshop fees for digital training.

Eligibility: Artists in any discipline residing in Nebraska, who meet the following criteria.

Must confirm both of the following statements in the Letter of Interest:

  • I am an artist who actively pursues art-making and arts-oriented opportunities.
  • My income stream from my artistic practice has been affected by Covid-19.

Must confirm at least one of the following statements in the Letter of Interest:

  • In light of Covid-19, I am experiencing barriers to marketing or reaching audiences due to a lack of technical equipment.
  • In light of Covid-19, I am seeking access to virtual professional development opportunities that will expand my reach as an artist.

Letters of Interest: Artists who fit the eligibility requirements are encouraged to send a Letter of Interest (LOI) to Include a description of how you will use the funds to further your artistic practice and virtual presence; a brief summary of your artistic credentials; the amount requested and what the funds will be used for; and your confirmation of the above eligibility requirements.

Grant Amounts: $500 maximum. This is a non-matching grant to be disbursed prior to the project start date or purchase of equipment. 

Deadline: The Letter of Interest (LOI) must be received no less than six weeks prior to the start of the project or purchase of equipment. Applications must be submitted no later than four weeks prior to the project start date or purchase of equipment.
