Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center

The Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center is dedicated to the life and works of author Mari Sandoz and to the High Plains region of the western United States where she lived. The center is located on the campus of Chadron State College and occupies the college's former library building, which is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Student Ratio: 1:15 adult to student ratio

Tour Info: Guided tours are led by docents and average 90 minutes. Also on the Chadron State College Campus is a planetarium and geology museum. Schools often schedule a day on campus and visit these as well.

Capacity/availability: Can accommodate up to four groups of 15 students each at a time. Open year round. With advance notice, ASL interpreters and adaptive assistance can be provided for students with special needs.

Saturday 9:00 a.m. to Noon and 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
