The Governor’s Residence Exhibition program was started in 1992 by then Nebraska First Lady Diane Nelson. Since that time, NAC has partnered with the Governor's Residence to showcase the work of more than 200 Nebraska artists. This unique space allows civic leaders, citizens, school children and other visitors to acknowledge and appreciate the diversity of statewide artistic talent. Eligible artwork must be two-dimensional, suitable for hanging and have appropriate content for the venue.
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is an annual selection of artwork by high school students, that highlights superior talent, innovative achievement, and personal style. Based on the initial awards, the Nebraska Governor's Residence hosts an an exhibition of a smaller selection of curated artworks. Because of Covid-19, this year the Governor's Residence Scholastic Art Exhibition is went virtual.
