Heidi Hermanson has been published in Midwest Quarterly, Hiram Poetry Review, the Omaha World Herald and elsewhere. She has been in many public art projects, including: "OmaHome" and the benchMarks project among others. Her most recent effort was a show at the Culxr (pronounced culture) House entitled, “Circus of the Mind'' combining page poetry, slam poetry, a belly dancer, a blues musician, and a soprano singer.
In 2008 Heidi received her MFA from the University of Nebraska. In 2010 she won the Omaha Public Library's annual poetry contest and performed her winning work accompanied by Silver Roots, a New-York-based violin and flute duo. She earned a Nebraska Book Award in 2014 for "The Untidy Season" (co-edited with Jen Lambert, Sarah Mason, and Liz Kay). Her first collection of poetry, “Waking to the Dream (Stephen Austin Press), was released in 2018. Her second collection, "Cocktails with God" is forthcoming from Finishing Line Press.
