Aiden oversees the Poetry Out Loud program as well as Arts Learning, Artist in Schools and Communities, School Bus, and Annual Programs in Arts Learning grants.
Aiden James Poling is a professional actor, multi-hyphenate creative, and teaching artist from Shreveport, Louisiana who has centered much of his career around inclusive arts access. Aiden holds BFAs in both Theatre and Studio Art, two areas of study which have helped shape his career across stage, music, film, directing, and design. As a teaching artist for public schools, non-profit arts organizations, and private students for 12+ years, Aiden has relied on his wealth of experience to offer unique perspectives and welcoming learning spaces for folks of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels.
Since moving to Omaha four years ago, Aiden has felt lucky to be so quickly immersed and embraced by the local arts community. He has served in leadership roles for several arts organizations, including Co-Artistic Director for RESPECT, as an actor for the VROOM Mobile Sensory Theatre, and most recently, as a Holland Community Opera Fellow at Opera Omaha.
Through his work at the Nebraska Arts Council, Aiden is excited to continue to help constituents across the entire state feel empowered through access to arts education and the celebration of creative culture.
