More Details
The Governor’s Residence Exhibition program was started in 1992 by then Nebraska First Lady Diane Nelson in collaboration with Nebraska Arts Council. Since then, we have shown the work of hundreds of Nebraskan artists, including high school artists participating in the annual Scholastic Art program.
This exhibition space allows visitors to acknowledge and appreciate the diversity of statewide artistic talent. Hundreds of visitors often include school or group tours, state agency or similar meetings, events and gatherings, and dignitary visits from other states and countries. There are occasions where this building is one of the few places visitors see of Nebraska, and this is a chance to share Nebraska’s visuals and stories with them.
The call for 2025-2027 exhibitions will be open from Feb. 14th to May 9th, 2024. Please use this link to apply: https://nebraska.slideroom.com/#/permalink/program/77344
Eligibility:
The Governor’s Residence exhibition space is accepting submissions from all artists living and working in Nebraska who are 21 years or older. Exhibitions are typically ten weeks long.
The exhibition space can only accommodate 2D artwork, so please do not submit your 3D work or audio/video or digital artwork. Artists are responsible for delivering their work ready to hang and installing/de-installing their exhibition. The space utilizes a traditional rail hanging system to avoid damage to the walls.
The artists are also responsible any additional promotional material outside the NAC announcements. The Nebraska Arts Council board and the Governor Residence Manager are the jurors for this exhibition program.
