Bass Meets Voice
Bass Meets Voice is a duo featuring critically acclaimed jazz recording artist Jackie Allen and internationally renowned double bassist artist-teacher Hans Sturm. The artists have performed together in venues from small classrooms to major performance halls on five continents for over 25 years.
The duo performs several concert options including:
- The Nebraska Project: musical portraits of significant Nebraska artists
- Rose Fingered Dawn: original works in a variety of styles
- The Great American Songbook: familiar and more obscure songs from the 30s-50s presented in innovative arrangements
Technical Requirements: We need a reasonable area for performing (15-20 square feet), adequate lighting to read music, and a PA system with a monitor and phantom power for the vocalist’s mic. Two music stands are appreciated.
Maximum negotiable fee: $2,000
Availability: Artists can not drive further than four hours a day while school is in session. Weekends are more flexible.
