Deborah Greenblatt, championship fiddler, author of fiddle tune books, composer, recording artist and private music teacher, received her formal training at Boston University.

She is now a multi-instrumentalist (fiddle, violin, viola, nyckelharpa, recorders, banjo, viola pomposa, mandolin, crwth, Stroh-viola, etc.), and shares these instruments with students during her residencies.

Ms. Greenblatt’s concerts are available for large and small groups of all ages, and include a variety of styles, instruments, stories, audience participation, as well as a question and answer session.

Ms. Greenblatt is well known for her stimulating fiddle workshops for fiddlers and students in school string programs and youth orchestras. Special shows include “Fiddle Origins, From Wales to Weeping Water”, “James Whitcomb Riley, the Fiddling  Children’s Poet”, “Fiddle Fables”, and “Fiddling Styles & Tunes From Many Cultures”.

Deborah and her husband, David Seay, often like to share residencies.

Creative Aging Arts Program

Participants will learn how to develop lyrics, recite the lyrics in rhythm, and add melodies and chords to support their lyrics.  Participants will then perform their original work or works for their extended community.
