Event Description:
South Omaha Museum of Immigrant History curator Jose’ F. Garcia, will give an art-talk reflecting the couple’s visionary power, full of symbols and personal stories, which inspired the imaginations of countless artists around the world, that included Omaha area artists. Examples created by Omaha area artists that are part of the “Linda and Jose’ Legacy Art Collection”, will be on exhibit at the Museum. This collection was begun in the early 1990’s when Omaha Chicana artist Linda [Perez} Rivera Garcia, began facilitating Frida Khalo art shows at various venues throughout Omaha, in an attempt to provide fellow Omaha artists community venues to show their art.
