NAC receives $95,000 grant award from NASAA for CAAP

The Nebraska Arts Council recently secured new funding from a national grant program to advance creative aging programs for older adults in the state.

NAC sought funding from the States Leading Creative Aging program, a new joint initiative of the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies (NASAA) and E.A. Michelson Philanthropy. We were able to secure $95,000 for our Creative Aging Arts Program (CAAP).

Plans for this grant include further developing and expanding CAAP through training, documentation of programs, promotion and support for more artist residencies. NAC also plans to provide curricular development training to additional teaching artists to ensure more representation of CAAP Cohort artists in underserved communities.

Along with those plans hopes, we will also be engaging in video production, public presentations, and expanded digital media coverage. The States Leading Creative Aging grant will help NAC to build awareness of the cultural enrichment that CAAP brings to communities and foster widespread support in the years to come.
