Ariadne Albright, MFA, is a visual artist with three decades of experience creating narrative paintings that explore identity and belonging. She has led a distinguished career advancing the role of the arts in health and community settings, with particular focus on incarcerated individuals. Albright holds a B.F.A. in Printmaking from the University of Washington and an M.F.A. in Painting from the University of South Dakota. She initiated and teaches the arts in health curriculum at USD’s College of Fine Arts and was a founding board member of the National Organization for Arts in Health (NOAH). A roster artist with the Nebraska and South Dakota Arts Council’s Communities Program, she has developed and facilitated inclusive, abilities-appropriate visual arts programming for a wide range of participants, including incarcerated youth and adults, Native communities, veterans, at-risk adolescents, and individuals in long-term care. Her book, Creative Care / An Artist in Healthcare, was published in 2020, and she received the 2023 Distinguished Service to the Field Award from the Teaching Artist Guild.
