Fernando Antonio Montejano
Fernando’s residencies integrate music with writing, poetry, and storytelling for teens and adults. He may begin a residency by having participants respond in writing to musical works, followed by more reflective listening exercises coupled with responsive writing, collaborative writing sessions among participants, and culminating with a group sharing experience. Fernando also offers sessions in which participants develop poems to be performed with exploration of the differences between creative writing and performance. Fernando brings his wide range of experience to AiS/C residencies. He has led poetry programs for high school students, and his work with Opera Omaha has involved workshops in diverse settings ranging from programs for adults with developmental disabilities to families in a homeless shelter.
