Olga Smola plays solo and ensemble performances in many different styles of music including classical, jazz, rock, country and electronic music as a violin DJ.
- Solo performance (10-45 min) and/or background music of 30-90 minutes (combination of genres: classical, jazz, rock etc.)
- Solo performance as a DJ with violin (can be combined with # 1 option) up to 2 hours Background Music/Strolling with violin and violin DJ-ing creates a wonderful soundscape, which is suited perfectly for art gallery openings, dinner parties, festivals and similar events. Programs can be tailored to meet the needs of the organization and audience.
- Classical Violin and Piano duo with a pianist Yulia Kalashnikova 1-1.5 hour programs (different programs of Russian, Classical, Baroque, Romantic, 20th century music) -can be combined with #1 option.
Optional Workshops: Workshops and Master classes for grades K-12 and college students are available. Workshops can be geared to general music classes or to special music classes such as violin, piano, chamber music and string orchestra. Workshops for general classes are more of an assembly program. For music students, workshops can focus on music history, instrument and performance techniques. The additional fee for a 50-to 60-minute workshop is $200.
All the violin-piano duo concerts can be a lecture-concert with providing short, interesting history about pieces and composers.
Solo violinist, ViolinDJ and/or background music
Artist is able to provide sound system if needed for additional charge. There should be a power source on or near the stage area. If sound is provided, the artist will need one input channel and microphone. Artist does not bring lighting for shows, but has no specific requirements. Outdoor events should include protection from extreme temperatures, direct sun/wind, storms, etc. A table covered with black linen for artist’s DJ equipment, computer and wireless system is required. A sound check will be required on the day of the performance (1 hour before showtime unless otherwise arranged) after the stage is set and all equipment is in operating order. Sound check shall last no more than 1 hour.
Violin Piano Duo
If performing as a duo (violin and piano), the group requires a well-tuned piano in good repair and regulation (preferably not an upright piano). A sound check will be required on the day of the performance (1 hour before showtime unless otherwise arranged) after the stage is set and all equipment is in operating order. Sound check shall last no more than 1 hour.
Maximum negotiable fees: Violin Duo: $2,650; Solo Violinist & Electronic/DJ: $2,500
