The Nebraska Arts Council, Nebraska Cultural Endowment, and Nebraskans for the Arts are organizations that are dedicated to fostering creativity, enriching communities, and supporting the arts across the state.
Your support helps sustain local artists, spark inspiration in the next generation, and ensure that every Nebraskan has access to the transformative power of the arts. Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference.
You can find different ways to support the arts in Nebraska below.
The NAC Development Corporation (NAC DC) is a nonprofit organization (501 (c)(3)) that supports grants, services, and programs for the Nebraska Arts Council. Donations can be made to this organization via check or PayPal.

Nebraska Legislative Bill 942, introduced by Omaha Sen. Megan Hunt, was passed on July 31st. This bill allows for the Nebraska Arts Council to create a new specialty license plate. The proceeds from license plate sales will provide funding support for the newly passed legislation for Creative Districts throughout Nebraska.
This design was created by artist Danielle Dewees of Bennet, NE.
Great news, you don’t have to wait until your current plates expire to upgrade to the Support the Arts license plate! Order your plate or find more information.
In 2024, Flatwater Free Press and the Nebraska Arts Council combined forces to launch the Creative Districts of Nebraska Series, a poster project celebrating the energy and character of the state’s official certified Creative Districts.
Artists were selected from highlighted districts to create an original artwork that celebrates the distinct cultural identities that make their communities truly special. 2024 posters for sale are: Ashland, Benson, McCook, Columbus, and Lincoln. 2025 posters for sale are: Chadron, Omaha, and Norfolk.
Along with these districts, two additional artworks were added to the project, created by Reyna Hernandez and Sarah Rowe, that celebrate a facet of Nebraska not directly tied to a Creative District.
The completed artworks were made into high quality, 12”x18” posters available for purchase in each corresponding community for $20 or as a gift for monthly donors to Flatwater Free Press. The posters by Hernandez and Rowe are available for purchase at the Nebraska Arts Council offices for a suggest donation of $20.
All purchase information is linked in the list below.
The images by Reyna Hernadez and Sarah Rowe are not tied a specific district and can be purchased by contacting the Nebraska Arts Council at nac.info@nebraska.gov or 402-595-2122.
Established in 1998, the Nebraska Cultural Endowment (NCE) is the first and only public-private cultural trust in the nation built to support and sustain the arts and humanities.
Through this visionary fund, all private donations are matched by the State of Nebraska, contributing to the cultural vibrancy, economic prosperity, and quality of life from Omaha to Scottsbluff. The Endowment is structured and managed to exist in perpetuity, meaning your donation today will continue to yield impact tomorrow, next year, and for generations to come.
As of 2024, the Endowment represents a total corpus of $30 million, half of which is held by the State of Nebraska in the Cultural Preservation Fund and the other half managed privately by the Nebraska Cultural Endowment. Earnings from these funds now generate over $1 million annually for arts and humanities programs across the state.
Representing arts organizations and individual members across the state, Nebraskans for the Arts (NFTA) advises policy makers, elected officials, and community leaders on the importance of strong arts education in our schools, the economic impact of the arts in our communities, and the benefits of pro-arts policies for Nebraska.
Their mission is to advance the arts as essential to life and learning for all Nebraskans.
